Unfortunately, we did not visit Libya initially we decided against visiting Libya due to the government protest uprisings and armed rebellions that spread across much of the Arab world in the early 2010s. It began in response to corruption and economic stagnation and was influenced by the Tunisian Revolution. This later on turned into all borders closed and unable to obtain visas. From all accounts from those who did visit Libya before the war it is an amazing country to visit. Libya is home to the ruins of the prominent Roman city of Leptis Magna. The ruins are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved Roman cities.
