The sultanate of Oman

Oman’s lush northern coast lies between the sea and inland mountains. This verdant, fertile region is known for its grapes and other produce. Much of the country’s interior is sandy, treeless and without water. This area is the domain of Bedouin nomads and oil and gas pipes. The capital Muscat, lies along the Northern coast and is a mix of western and traditional buildings. Oman is the oldest continuously independent state in the Arab world.
